Former client “wows” destination marketing world with Barnhart-born sticker program

Congratulations to our former client, the Wyoming Office of Tourism, for recently winning two awards from Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI). On top of nabbing the 2016 Outstanding Website award for TravelWyoming.com, they also took home the “Most Creative Idea” WOW Award for their “Great American Road Trip” sticker program, which was conceptualized right here at Barnhart.

The goal of the program was to strategically place tangible keepsakes throughout the state that would coax more visitors off the highways and deeper into Wyoming’s breathtaking landscapes. That’s where Academy Award-winning illustrator John Bell came in. Inspired by his childhood memories of collecting vintage luggage labels, Bell worked with Barnhart to design 23 retro-themed stamps that highlight Wyoming’s unique attractions like Yellowstone National Park and the Flaming Gorge Reservoir.

Visitors can still pick up the stickers at any of Wyoming’s 15 visitor centers, state parks or historic sites.

“The award is a big recognition for the Wyoming Office of Tourism and for Barnhart,” said Bill Schumacher, president and CEO of Barnhart. As an integrated communications agency, the success of our clients is our success, which makes us strive even more to be their most vital marketing partner. ”
